The process of self improvement often has a destructive impact mentally and emotionally if you ask yourself what you “should do” or  “should be ” you become set up for self rejection. Your mind immediately creates a conceptual image of what you should be and another part of your mind detrmines that you are not the conceptual image you just created. The voice in your head make a judgement that you are a failure for not meeting the mental image and you end up feeling ” not good enough ” . All of this because you dont meet the conceptual image you created in your mind, an image that is not even real. How stupid it sounds we are unhappy just because we had not met the fake in us ” doesn’t it.
By desiring to be ” something” different you have formed a mental criteria of what you should be and self consciously reject yourself the way you are. It simply means you are rejecting the ” REAL” in you.
Just ask yourself is being fake your attitude, ofcourse not so why to change. Let people accept you in the way you are. If people wants you to change for some reasons just interchange them with those who are accepting the way you are because when you are real always there is a chance you can do better. You will have to introduce them with the real in you.
You don’t have to change what you are or what you have to be happy but instead chnage the emotions you are expressing. If you are expressing anger then you will feel angry. If you are expressing jealousy you will feel jealous. If you are expressing love then you are likely to express happiness. Think back to different times in your life and make a note of what you were expressing. We often feel associated feeling happy with who we were with what we had , or what we were doing. Those external things were not making us happy it was the love we were expressing at the time that fulfilled us.
Self acceptance is a great step towards expressing love for yourself. If trying to be ” something different ” creates an expression of self rejection, then the solution is to create an expression of self acceptance.

Wonderful post ! Reminds me of one of my favourite quotes; “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”― Ralph Waldo Emerson
